Alright, there’s no pretending that this game is antique-themed while its story takes place when it does and continues forward. Around the 2000s, art gladly celebrated what was futuristic, welcoming the new millennium. Nowadays, at least for some of us, there is more concern than glee about it.
But it isn’t new. In 1999, three mind-bending films came out that made history and became classics. One of them is no other than The Matrix, warning about what would happen to us if technology completely took over and prompting us to notice the simulation. The other two, Fight Club and The Sixth Sense, let’s just say, could also lead you to question reality. Or, in their case, “reality”.
So, as The Artist’s RPG goes into Science Fiction territory, it follows that it will get philosophical too. I wouldn’t expect any less when Art is involved and at the center of it all.
This brings the question: Where? No! WHEN are we?
