My current state is that I had to shut off being a 'Host' and instead am being a Cook with some overhearable chitchatter in the back kitchen. But people are still welcome to dine here. ✌

Welcome, Regardless

Speaking of niceties and pleasantries...

I've said it before, but it's worth saying again. You are welcome in my space, however you got here, if you are genuinely an artistic spirit that makes art for the love of it. I just happen to be still caught up in a 'Loading' phase, so I cannot receive (celebrate and host) everyone as it is merited yet. But if you're making life, people, and/or the world better, and this place is making you better, then I love to have you around!

And may you have a good time before a more proper meeting!

Give it time, y'all. The vision is not yet materialized. There are fixes, changes, adjustments, enhancements, and extensions coming. Along with much more that's in my hands, in God's, and in the Universe's. Stick around if you'd rather not miss it! But also remember that you're free to come and go as you please. It's only a few of us, artsy nerds, who make this ordeal our entire lives. 

If you're a hardcore artist (that is, you take artistry seriously), you're welcome to get your fit here, but also elsewhere. (Just, please, always be selective about your sources and discerning with your information so you don't get brain rot!)

Not Too Early, Not Too Late, Newcomers

I said I would be a better Host this year, but what was in store for me went beyond anything I could have predicted (and I’m still trying to get it together). However, whether you catch me in my most receptive, flexible, and accommodating self or not, you can be 100% sure that, if you’re the kind of person I make content for, I’ll be happy to have you around!

What kind of person is that? You may ask. Well, I can be quite polarizing rather than palatable to most. However, that’s how I prefer it because it is rooted in specific values and principles that I’m firm about. They keep me on track with my mission ('Unbridling & Sustaining Artistic Abilities') and ultimately filter in and out who I’m rolling with. So, in other words, if you don’t have a problem with what I am and stand for (openly or not), chances are I don’t with you either (I do take feedback and make revisions, I simply do not tolerate sabotage). Then, we might click together in mutually beneficial ways.

I’ve accumulated plenty to browse through already, but I’m still working on making sense and putting in order all that I must for things to flow with (at least comparable) stability and ease. Yet, please keep in mind that, regardless of how much I cover, it is still on you to seek out content from other (ideally reliable) sources to continue to develop yourself the best you can. And I’ll just regularly put out my part in contribution.

Furthermore, there are times when I am paying close attention to current events and times when I am not. If you really must bring something to my attention (and I seem to be missing it), allow yourself to be extra ‘obnoxious’ about it, leaving comments or sending direct messages. I may be busy (or zoned out), but not indifferent. I'll be gathering concerns and tackling them over time.

PS: I also pretty much function in a “if the hat fits, wear it” manner. Don’t take for yourself any hostility or intervention that isn’t merited. If it doesn’t apply to you, then it doesn’t. But if it does, in the same or a lesser degree, then it is an opportunity for self-reflection. And even so, it may or may not have been directed at you or anyone in particular (just addressing common or related issues). ✌🏻

Welcome, Newcomers!

To those of you in alignment with what I stand for, welcome! I wish I already had more ready and in place for your arrival. But, regardless, I gladly open my doors to you before too long!

At this point, there's plenty of content accumulated to browse through or search up. However, you are not required to go through all of it before making yourself comfortable as a regular. Maybe it'll be enough to read only a few pieces, here and there, and wait for more that's on the way.

I have more content coming, more organization left to do, and more sections to add (it's getting political, something artists would rather not fully revolve around but ultimately cannot completely avoid). So, it's part of the package of Unbridling & Sustaining Artistic Abilities.

In any case, keep in mind that there's only so much that I can cover from my own angle and through my own approach. You must, along with it, curate a list of various sources to count on for your development. And I'll just keep contributing my part to it. 👍

Hello, Newcomer!

One month into what I’d call a new cycle, I’d like to make a quick recap of what you’ve missed if you’re a newcomer along with a few points on what you should know.

This is still in the early stages and I’ll probably keep saying that for a while! I have long-term plans for what I’m doing so, next to what I’ve visualized and am aiming for, this is still messy preparation. It’s like arriving at a party while it’s still being set up. Can’t expect optimal hosting yet, but you’re extra appreciated for helping out or simply being patient.

I may seem strangely unbothered by my lack of audience (we are still just a few), but I’m not really in a rush for a wide one (I’m not an example to follow if you are). I started this with the intention of eventually reaching “mini-me’s” who are struggling with what I’ve struggled (people similar to me and on a similar path but who are a little behind in aspects of it). However, it seems that I’m currently in a period of honoring my ancestors and heeding their guidance instead. Yet, I have so much faith in all of it because I’m certain that, if you’re art-obsessed like me, sooner or later, one way or another, we’ll be in a carefully crafted universe that is worth every second.

Then again, I still exhort you to have other sources of content for your needs and wants as I cannot cover them all now or ever. I’ll keep occasionally curating those I can deem trustworthy or at least worthwhile, but you should still go after what you require to keep going forward. Also, limit or moderate your consumption of my content if and when it is counterproductive to you and where you are (get back to more of it when that’s no longer the case).

There are times when I would like for things to move along faster, but maybe this is running on divine timing and rushing it would defeat the purpose. What do I know as a mere mortal? Admittedly, it’s like I’ve dodged a few bullets already. Sometimes what you believe you want is not what you need. And I’m currently happy to be working toward my goals with various types of support from people I’d gladly be grateful and reciprocal toward.

As usual, if you have any concerns, you can let me know and I’ll see if there’s anything I can do about it that’s still in alignment with my mission.

Be warned, though, I don’t promise eternal and constant pleasantness. I only promise to persistently strive to be and remain authentic. This means that there will be ups and downs, steps back and then forward, and a range of thoughts and feelings. Which, in my opinion, leads to some of the best art and you can take it as an invitation to allow yourself the same. As long as it is not seriously detrimental to you and/or to others, it’ll be fine. I do value some degree of safety and stability, though, so I’ll give notice and take precautions whenever I can.

Furthermore, don’t let my invisibility deceive you. I’ve been online since mIRC days, observing (and often discussing) online behavior across the web. I’m not as naive as I look. Nor are those closest to me.

Lastly, you’re more than welcome to become a regular if your intentions are good. I don’t consider myself too strict, but users and abusers might disagree. Nevertheless, if this place feels right for you, then I’m glad you found me and are around!

If you’re a kindred spirit, someone who cares about the mission of “Unbridling & Sustaining Artistic Abilities”, not only for yourself but for other artists and aspiring artists as well, welcome! This place is still in its earliest stages. It will continue to be filled, improved, and enhanced over time. More will become clearer as it goes on, but you can drop questions and I’ll get to them right away or eventually (unless I happen to miss them). Ask again if that seems to be the case. I may tell you to wait for when I will answer it or if it will not be answered at all (when too personal or private). Feel free to make the contributions you'd like to make and to come and go as it suits you. Whether you check in every day or not, and whether you check everywhere I post or not, it is fine.
