It hasn’t ended yet! When the tour actually started, unfortunately, although I had been anticipating it, I was not in a state to be able to appreciate it. And if I’m being honest, I’m still not fully there yet. But regardless, it is GRAND. So I already very much can!
Frank Iero wasn’t exaggerating when he responded to a mean comment online with something along the lines of “My Chemical Romance doesn’t disappoint” and practically a “STFU”. (Sometimes bits like that end up on my feed, okay?!)
And what’s with these letters? They really came up with their own alphabet. Making us go the extra mile to figure out what is being written. Such fine gatekeeping. But also hiding in plain sight. It is a solvable puzzle, but a puzzle nonetheless.
What is even happening on stage? Voting? Stabbing? Decaying? The drama and the theatrics are unhinged and deranged, to say the least. Some of it is grotesque. And if you know the band, you’d know that this is nothing new. In fact, they’re still holding back. But I applaud how they are pushing boundaries. Knowing what they’re doing. While the rest of us are still catching up, trying to make sense of what is what, why, and how. And they continue to change and switch things around.
Some have complained that it got too political. And oh boy. Tell me you don’t know My Chemical Romance without telling me you don’t know My Chemical Romance.
(This is a reference to a previous concert in Mexico.)
I’ll keep paying attention to the tour and see more of what it’s leading up to!
